Hotel Eden in Rome is one of the grandes dames of Rome’s five star hotel scene, offering one of the best hotel restaurants in the city. Today I’m reviewing the Hotel Eden brunch but this is a top Rome restaurant for all occasions!
Hotel Eden’s top floor restaurants, Il Giardino and La Terrazza at Hotel Eden, represent beautifully appointed spaces which include a loggia-style open-air restaurant in the summer. In the winter, Il Giardino is a refined, bright restaurant distinguished by picture windows with calming views across Villa Borghese.
It’s here that chef Fabio Ciervo works his magic, serving a range of styles inspired by world cuisine but nearly always starting and ending in his native Italy. In Ciervo’s own words: ‘My style of cooking is based on continuous research around my guiding principles of innovation, wellbeing, ingredients, taste and art’.
A member of the prestigious Dorchester Collection, the hotel has welcomed stars of film and music over the years, countless politicians and members of the wealthy elite.
However, the real Hotel Eden magic is making every guest feel like a VIP. I recently went along to try the Hotel Eden brunch in Rome and I wasn’t disappointed!
Hotel Eden brunch review and prices
Currently served between 12.30 and 15.00 at weekends, the Hotel Eden brunch is a glorious journey through savoury and sweet tastes across a refined and varied menu. It is served in the hotel’s Il Giardino restaurant.
The Hotel Eden brunch price is €80 per person, without wine, for a generous meal which will keep you going all day!
The Hotel Eden brunch kicks off with a generous spread of appetizers, ranging from sushi to cured ham and mozzarella, veal with tuna sauce, Roman-style tripe and fat king prawns breaded and fried. There’s also a delicious fondue dish with crusty bread. The menu includes all of these dishes so you can try a bit of everything – and it’s quite a spread!
After the generous antipasti course, two first courses follow as part of the Hotel Eden brunch. We had mezzi pacheri with salmon and ginger, delicate and fragrant; and Milan-style saffron risotto served with a beautiful piece of stewed beef. Both absolutely delicious.
We followed this with a second course of our choice. I plumped for the slices of seared tuna with citrus, coriander and sesame seeds. This was a wonderfully light and aromatic dish made from the freshest fish.
After all that, a dessert trolley passes which is really the pièce de résistance of the Hotel Eden brunch – especially if you have a sweet tooth. I tried a pistachio pastry and a slice of sacher torte – always a good idea!
The Hotel Eden brunch is distinguished by excellent service – really making this a luxurious treat which is worth every cent.
Book your table for the upcoming weekend and don’t forget to mention that Testaccina sent you!
