What’s on the menu at the biggest Eataly in the world, and what are the best things to eat at Eataly Rome? After undergoing a radical overhaul, Eataly in Rome Ostiense now has a broader and better selection of Italian goodies on offer, a new flagship restaurant, as well as new casual dining options.
Don’t miss Eataly when visiting Rome – this foodie wonderland is not only an upmarket supermarket and kitchen store, it’s also home to a selection of restaurants and bars which really hit the spot.
One of the most exciting new entries is the pop-up version of Ikea, the first one in Rome’s city centre. This is the first Eataly-Ikea partnership in the world and definitely worth checking out.
Read on to find out all about the new restaurants and the new Eataly menus and get ready to plan your Eataly trip. Warning – delicious food pictures ahead!
Eataly’s bakery has been refurbished and this is now a bigger and better place to buy bread, pizza and lots of other delicious morning goods. Remember, different styles of bread from all over Italy are baked here so there’s something for every taste!
The all new charcuterie and cheese department has even more varieties of cheese from right across Italy for just the best souvenirs of your Roman holiday. If you’re a Rome expat, too, this is the place to score essential and unique ingredients for the perfect dinner party.
Gastronomical delights continue in the brand new deli, including succulent fresh roasted items at the rotisserie. Expect seasonal goodies here as well as evergreen favourites.
Next door, a brand new cuopperia – a fried fish counter serving piping hot cones of food – is also on hand to serve those on-the-spot moments of hunger.
Eataly has a brand new craft beer bar with over 400 kinds of beer and a fine selection of craft beers on tap. This also serves the most divine pan-baked pizzas which are totally worth your time.
Eataly’s new ice-cream counter is worth planning a visit for all by itself. I’m not a huge ice-cream fan but I devoured this cup of seasonal flavours – nutty chestnut, tangy mandarin and smooth pistachio. Simply divine.
Eataly’s new flagship restaurant, Terra, is the third Terra in the world after Los Angeles and Boston. Located on the second floor, it is equipped with a handsome cocktail bar which just inspires you to grab a drink before moving to your table.
Eataly’s Terra restaurant has one of the biggest wood-fired grills I have ever seen at three metres wide. This is where fresh fish and meat are grilled on the spot and are the hallmark of the new menu.
We started with a poached egg and spinach on brioche bread with shavings of black truffle, in a light cheese sauce. This was a great starter and is one of the seasonal specialities available at Terra.
Next up, we tried some of the great grilled meat on the menu, including this wonderful sliced Fassona beef.
We also tried a swordfish steak, freshly grilled, which was succulent and tasty.
Expect wonderful sorbets and ice-creams on the menu here, a great way to round out a tasty dinner.
All in all, get ready to be delighted and surprised by what’s on the menu at this all-new Eataly in Rome. Eataly’s Terra restaurant is a worthy flagship dining option at Eataly and there are lots of other lovely (and tasty) surprises in store.
